Traveling to Africa is amazing because you will never know what kind of situation you will bump into. People there are friendly and they will invite you to event you will never dream of. The other day I was invite to attend a funeral ceremony in Senegal and learned a lot about their local culture. Because most senegalese are Muslim, their body need to be bury on the same day or within a week. Toubab Dialaw to me is a very magical place:) It’s look like a fairytale world and is totally different from the rest of Senegal! The hotels and houses over there are all so beautiful because rich Senegalese love to built vacation houses over there because of the beautiful beach over there. I went to stayed at one of the most famous hotel-Sobo Bade in a 120 degree sea-view hut. The hut literally sit right in front of the ocean so I can hear the sound of the wave right in the room! After 2 week of separation since Morocco, finally I got to see Martine again in Senegal! She went through Mauritania to Dakar while I flew from casablanca to Dakar! First, I called Heidi-the contact I got from the pilot I met in Casablanca and we all went for a lovely lunch around Dakar.We had a lovely talked then she drove us to the ferry station where we can took the ferry to this beautiful island named NGOR.
98% of Senegalese is Muslim so you will find a lot of mosques in Senegal and a lot of their clothing included Muslim designs in It. However, the women’s clothing are JUST amazingly colorful and beautiful. I was told that women spent 90% of their money on clothing and jewelries. From what I had saw so far, I believe that’s true! However, they are do not like me taking photos of them, so I have to have my guide standing right there and I pretend to take photo of him:P..so funny:P
So, If you have read my Previous post or follow me on Facebook, you know I am DETERMINED to go to this pink lake in Senegal. I found the information online before I went to Senegal and found this truly amazing. When I saw the lake in real life, it didn’t FAIL ME AT ALL. It is absolutely one of the most beautiful lake I have seen in my life….cus I Love everything PINK:)
