Happy New Year Everyone:) I am sorry I am kind of late to make a new year post but please do understand that I AM IN AFRICA! EVERYTHING slower in Africa
Anyway, I hope all of YOU the BEST in 2013 and I hope my photos from Africa so far make all of you smiles:)
As you all can see, I bought another NEW AFRICAN DRESS:). Yup, it’s my New Year dress from Ghana. What a beautiful country:) Lots of great beaches and lots of history. I suggest every American should go there so they understand a lot more about Slave culture. But don’t worry, I will show you all in my upcoming posts:) I Spent my new year eve at a beautiful beach front resort around Cape Coast. There’s a castle and fishermen village nearby and it’s amazing to stay over there.
At around midnight, we all launched big lanterns to the sky and watched them flew away:)
This is my first time to launch a lantern with a group of people to celebrate new year. To me, it’s so special:)
After that, there’s a huge, I mean HUGE fireworks:) Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos at all and the photos from above are NOT even took by me since my camera was locked at the owner’s room:) I am very thankful to get all these photos from my friend:P but I am always a lucky girl…..really. I always bump into GREAT people-like the worker-Mabel and the Owner of the resort-Susan.
When I arrived the resort, there’s NO ROOM available because it’s new year time and everywhere was FULL! When Mabel found out I needed a room, she graciously offered me her room that was inside the owner’s house:) I got a chance to share a house with the owner and Mabel and they didn’t charge me a penny for that!!!!!!! Well, to show my appreciation I bought a lot of stuff from the resort and be generous on Tips. BUT still, I can’t compare to their generosity at all
At night, we drink and dance and drink and dance:P
So, if you guys ever interested in staying in a beach resort in Cape Coast, Ghana…drop me a line and I will give you all the information. Happy new year everyone:)

Dearest Tammy,
You were treated royally again but I guess it is not hard for liking you! Kindness goes both ways; if you are kind, you will be treated kind. That’s our experience so far too, we’ve been to many places worldwide and got treated mostly very warm and kind.
Still you share some great photos with your readers here. Love the view on the beach with the castle in the background. Amazing beauty and again, a shame that this is not being spread around enough to make tourism pick up. The local people are nice and willing to step up to a greater economy.
Hugs to you and have a Happy and Safe stay and travel.
Mariette
The dress is really pretty and you look beautiful! Seems like you had such a fun New Year’s Eve! Hope you’ll travel even more in 2013! Happy New Year!
