There are many local Benin people come here for vacation also:) I have to tell you, Benin is NOT a poor country at all, my impression is they have a very good relationship with France and I met a lot of local people do business in between Benin and France!

  3. Dearest Tammy,
That’s good to read that the connection with France makes them thrive economically better still. So there is HOPE for some African countries!
Enjoy your resort; although I bet at times you’ve seen and felt enough sand…

  8. Dear Tammy, just word to explain: by the middle of the nineteenth century, Benin started to lose its status as the regional power. This enabled the French to take over the area in 1892. And first in 1958 France granted autonomy to Benin and full independence as of August 1, 1960. That’s why they still stay in “economical touch” 😉
    Great photos 😀

I see you are still on your beautiful adventures around the world, lucky you 🙂 You have really given me more insight on some African countries, for example I did not have any info on Benin before reading this article! I am sure that travelling around the African continent is not always easy but I imagine that you feel very proud about this accomplishment 🙂 Hpy Wknd xx

  14. I am a student in the eighth grade studying Benin, Africa and I would like to use one of your photos (the top one specifically) to represent a beach in Benin. I will site this source as well. This image represents exactly what I need perfectly. It is going to be in a written piece of work turned into my teacher. However, it won’t be displayed online or anywhere. I noticed your request to not use your pictures without request, so this is my request.
