Ways to Get Around South Africa

Ways to Get Around South Africa

As some of you might know I am a Big FAN of Africa! I love this continent so much that I constantly go back there. However, so many people have asked me questions regarding traveling to South Africa instead of traveling to the relatively dangerous West/Central Africa. So, I decided to make a post telling you guys the ways to get around South Africa🙂

South Africa
It’s great to be able to afford a holiday in South Africa, but for many travelers, taking a break from work, family obligations, and the daily stresses of life must be done within a budget. And while most travelers spend a lot of time looking for the best prices on cheap flights, there are also many other means of traveling through the country on a tighter budget.

Public Transport

Public transportation is a way of life for many South Africans in both rural and urban areas, and holidays are no exception. Major cities like Cape Town and Johannesburg have large bus and train systems to help travelers get from point A to point B. The historical Blue train systems are also quite a holiday treat, especially for travelers looking for a more culturally saturated, yet luxurious holiday experience. The trains have been described as essentially a five star hotel in motion over the beautiful South African landscape.

Carpools

Young people in particular should try attempting to carpool during their travels. While many car rental companies have competitive budget-friendly prices, students and young people mindful of their money can cut their costs even more if they share a car.

Hit the Open Water

Cars, planes, and trains aren’t the only way to enjoy South Africa. Visitors can not only go sailing for the day in Cape Town or another of the country’s larger sea worthy ports, but travelers can also take cruises up and down the coast. Traveling by sea can be a great way to see more of the South African landscape, all the while cutting down on the cost of a multi-city or multi-regional holiday.

Affordable Airfares

Travelers can now find the best prices on airfare, hotel accommodations, and even car rental rates all in one place. I recommended that travelers make their plans far in advance, so as to guarantee the best rates on all of their travel needs. Flights to Cape Town are easy to find with sites like Fly.co.za. So start browsing now your Net get the best deals.

Cheers:)

  5. Hi Tammy.. Thanks so much for your kind wishes, it means a lot to me 🙂
Would you believe I’ve never used any type of public transport here in SA besides airplanes. The buses and minibuses are not generally safe but the Gautrain and Blue train are of first world status. Its also really easy to hire a car and get around
