First leg of my 2012-2013 Trans-Africa Trip

First leg of my 2012-2013 Trans-Africa Trip

It’s Confirmed:)

I have booked my ticket to Madrid. I will fly out of NYC to Madrid on 9/25 then to Tunis on 9/30. It seems like I will only be passing by Madrid but I have no choice. I need to head down south before rainy season come and there is only one tour every Monday that will go to Star War film site in Tunisia. Therefore, I need to fly to Tunis before 10/1. Also, my friend from Madrid disappear recently and there is no way I can locate her. My original plan was to stay at her place for a week, but now I do not think this is an option. But, this give me another option…I am GOING to GREECE!!!!.YEAH!!! I will fly out from Tunisia to Malta on 10/7 then Athens on 10/11. I will be in Greece for 9 days then head to Lisbon on 10/19. After Portugal, I will then head back to Barcelona for ANDORRA. Ah, this small country!!! I need to check this out of my list fast since I do not think I will go back to Spain any time soon so I think it’s better for me to check this country out if I want to complete my mission of traveling to every single country in this world🙂

After Andorra, I will fly down to Malaga then Gibraltar and start my real journey 2012-2012 Trans-Africa Adventure

In this post, I would like to talk about my travel habit and how to travel as economical as possible-

(1) I normally search for different sites and look for the cheapest ticket-I will normally compare fly.com, budget.com and kayak.com. I normally find they have different prices with different flight routes. It’s good to know you always have another options to choose from.

(2) I normally search the cheapest ticket by putting in different date. I will adjust my travel depend on the date.

(3) I will research on the plane ticket price for nearby countries. Sometimes, the neighboring country may not be the cheapest to fly to.

(4) I always break down my travel into different legs. For example, if I find out flight from Lisbon to Malaga involve a layover in Barcelona and it cost $220. I would rather break up my travel from Lisbon to Barcelona for $180, then Barcelona to Malaga for $55. This normally let me travel to more cities in a budget and I do not need to stay at the airport for layover.

(5) I normally book the air ticket through airline instead of agent. For example I found out that to book through an agent it’s $30 more than book through Tunissair website!!! So, I just went straight to Tunisair website. However, there’s a catch! the whole website is in French even though it give you an option to choose language-french or English. The English version are always in error!!! So, I have no choice but to do it with google translate:P

tunisair

After giving all my credit card information, at the end I don’t even have a confirmation email like the other website did. I hope everything will be fine when I try to fly from Tunis to Malta:P

(6) I try to use mileage program as much as possible and I have applies for so many credit card programs that give me free mileage. Usually US flight company are more generous with mileage and I always got up to 100000 miles by spending a certain amount of money.

(7) I recently have tries the Fidelity program myself-

How to earn 150000 miles with Fidelity.com

I have heard a lot of people got rejected to use this technique. I want to point out it’s easier for Female to do this.It sounds like a lot of money to get 15000 miles for $25000. However, for those already have the money save up for long term traveling, it’s a great way to get free miles using the technique I am going to show you. You do not have to be US resident to register for this website and I promise there is nothing to do with me with this website. Also, fidelity is the most trust-worthy brokerage website in the USA. I have try it and I do not have to buy and sell anything to get the miles. How? You just have to deposit your money and move it in and out from your bank account. the only things you need to do is make sure your bank account is link to the brokerage account. Please also make sure you have enroll in the frequent flyer program  with United Airline, American Airline and Delta Airline. OK, here is

how I get 100000 Skymiles:

fidelity skymiles

1)Get to the link-https://scs.fidelity.com/other/offers/registration_delta.shtml

(2)Register to earn mile by opening a new account or fund an exiting brokerage account and link with your bank account

(3)Deposit $25000 into the account, make sure the record is correct

(4)Transfer the money back to your bank account

(5) Repeat the above procedure 5 times and you will get 50000 miles

To get 100000 United MIles:

(1)Get to the link- https://scs.fidelity.com/other/offers/registration_ual.shtml

(2)Register to earn mile by funding your exiting brokerage account

(3)Deposit $25000 into the account, make sure the record is correct

(4)Transfer the money back to your bank account

(5) Repeat the above procedure 5 times and you will get 50000 miles

To get 100000 American MIles:

(1)Get to the link- https://scs.fidelity.com/other/offers/registration_aa2.shtml

(2)Register to earn mile by funding your exiting brokerage account

(3)Deposit $25000 into the account, make sure the record is correct

(4)Transfer the money back to your bank account

(5) Repeat the above procedure 5 times and you will get 50000 miles

After 9 months, you will be getting a total of 300000 miles to play around.

I had tried it and it work. If you do not have $25000 to spare. You can just work with $5000 and play around with the deposit and transfer action. There is a time frame for having counting new money coming in to the brokerage account which in 3 months. You might need to be careful playing around with your money. But bottom line is, you will still get up to 45000 miles in a time frame of 9 months and you can get back all your money at the end.

Cheers everyone:)
