Mongolia-Genghis Khan Style

Mongolia-Genghis Khan Style

I still remembered when I arrived Ulaanbaatar train station early morning on 2009. It’s like arriving to another world. My 2009 round the world trip started in Beijing which I took the Trans-Mongolian Train all the way to St. Petersburg Russia through Siberia. It’s such a memorable journey which I will never forget in my lifetime. I was partying all night in Beijing before I boarded the train to Mongolia. I immediately passed out when I got on the train and luckily nobody was sharing a compartment with me:) My journey onward was full of fun and memory. I still remembered there were a lot more Russians and Mongolians than Travelers which really did surprised me. Most of them didn’t pay for the train tickets and were always hiding whenever the conductor pass by. It was so funny because their main purpose was to sell products on every station we stop by. So, it’s a lot of fun just by watching them doing the hide and seek.

Mongolia, actually should be Outer Mongolia. It’s a country between Russia and China. This country used to have a lot of nomadic people living in a Yurt:) But nowadays, most of the yurt village are for tourist purpose which I really do not like. It’s like a tourist theme park with no authentic taste. Luckily I still can find some traditional culture that I like and had stayed in a yurt for 3 days to experience the life of nomadic people.

First leg of my 2012-2013 Trans-Africa Trip

First leg of my 2012-2013 Trans-Africa Trip

It’s Confirmed:)

I have booked my ticket to Madrid. I will fly out of NYC to Madrid on 9/25 then to Tunis on 9/30. It seems like I will only be passing by Madrid but I have no choice. I need to head down south before rainy season come and there is only one tour every Monday that will go to Star War film site in Tunisia. Therefore, I need to fly to Tunis before 10/1. Also, my friend from Madrid disappear recently and there is no way I can locate her. My original plan was to stay at her place for a week, but now I do not think this is an option. But, this give me another option…I am GOING to GREECE!!!!.YEAH!!! I will fly out from Tunisia to Malta on 10/7 then Athens on 10/11. I will be in Greece for 9 days then head to Lisbon on 10/19. After Portugal, I will then head back to Barcelona for ANDORRA. Ah, this small country!!! I need to check this out of my list fast since I do not think I will go back to Spain any time soon so I think it’s better for me to check this country out if I want to complete my mission of traveling to every single country in this world🙂

After Andorra, I will fly down to Malaga then Gibraltar and start my real journey 2012-2012 Trans-Africa Adventure

Belgium-Comic Style

Belgium-a country famous for beers and waffles…..and tons of talented designers-Dirk Bikkembergs,Ann Demeulemeester,Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, etc. I love the beers in Belgium and love the hospitality Belgian people have to offer. Next time when you check out the beers in belgium, remember to check out the designer shops in Brussels also.

What the fashion world is saying……….

What the fashion world is saying……….

Flipped through most magazines and saw many fashion shows of some prestige designers in recent years . I noticed that many design elements were influenced or inspired by local fashion around the world. Designers sometimes often traveled to an exotic place and get design inspiration. For my personal experiences, to actually get to a place to see the real local culture is more inspirational than researching on the internet. That give me an idea of travel to every single country in this world and capture all those elements.

China-the up and coming fashion capital

China-the up and coming fashion capital

China is the country I want to start a post long time ago but it will probably end up with 20+posts just by talking about the different fashion elements in this country. Why? because China consist of 21 different ethnic groups each have their own distinct culture. not to say different dynasties of china have different fashion elements of its own. I have been to Beijing and Shanghai twice and been to 12 different provinces in china, but still I can’t wait to go back to explore more because different part of china are really SO different. Anyway, let get started-

Modern fashion in China consisted of so many varieties, there are local Chinese fashion designers who already claimed international recognition-e.g. GUO PEI

All below photos are clips from the internet***
